It was another appearance for the Brock Badgers men's rugby team in the postseason.  

Travelling to Alumni Field in London, Ont., the Ontario University Athletics (OUA) No. 6 seed Badgers came up just short, dropping a 28-21 decision to the No. 3 seed Western Mustangs on Saturday, Oct. 25. 

"it's a tough end to our season but we are proud of the performance the team put in," said head coach Sean Medeiros. "Despite multiple injuries early in the game, we had a number of players step up and play their best rugby of the year."

Grant Meadows led the Badgers with 10 points off two tries, while Sam Morreale knocked in two conversions in his first game as the team's primary kicker. 

After a quick Western score that made it 7-0, Brock found the try zone twice from Meadows and Robin French to go up 14-7. 

Late in the first half, Meadows added a penalty try to extend the Badgers' advantage to 21-14.

Despite a chance to tie it in the waning moments of the match, the Badgers were unable to add more points as the Mustangs added 14 unanswered to take the victory.

Medeiros reflected on the progress of his team throughout the year.

"This season saw 13 players make their debut, marking a year of growth and development for the program. The team will be better for the experience, with a bright future ahead. We want to thank our graduating players for their dedication to the program. They leave the program in a strong place, having helped elevate its standards and culture."

This season marked the sixth consecutive year the Badgers have made the OUA playoffs. 

During the regular season, they matched their record from last year at 3-3.
