Brock drops low-scoring affair to close out regular season

The Brock Badgers men's rugby team have lost their final contest of the season.

Looking to put an end to their three-game losing streak, the Badgers were unable to leave Toronto with a victory, as they were beaten 25-21 by the Toronto Varsity Blues on Saturday, Oct. 17.

The Badgers were led in scoring by senior Grant Meadows, who scored two tries in his final OUA game for the Brock Badgers.

The fifth-year back row got the night started with a try in the 7th minute, to help give Brock an early 7-0 lead. A swift response from Toronto just three minutes later set the tone for the night, as the Blues answered back to keep the contest tight in the opening stages.

With Brock leading by a conversion at halftime, they were unable to hold onto their advantage throughout the second period of play. Toronto scored three times to open the half through a drop goal, try, and penalty to put the game out of reach, despite a late try from Meadows in the 71st minute.

With the result, the Badgers season has come to an end, with the team finishing their campaign with a 2-4 record. Brock young core showed growth and gained valuable experience throughout the year, laying the foundation heading into next season.
