Michael Ivanov and Rémi Ouellette continue to remain at the top of the mountain.
The Badgers earned two podium finishes at the 2026 Ontario University Athletics (OUA Championships) at the Toronto Track and Field Centre in Toronto from Friday, Feb. 20 and Saturday, Feb. 21.
Finishing tied for eighth place with the Queen's Gaels, the Badgers earned 18 points, nine ahead of the Laurier Golden Hawks.
In the pole vault, Ivanov became a three-time champion, clearing four metres and 90 centimetres on his first attempt at that height.
His successful jump finished five cm ahead of Jackson Mackay from the Western Mustangs, and Ivanov is currently ranked first in the country with a jump of 5.10m a few weeks ago at the Windsor Team Challenge.
"Michael was able to find calm and focus in a very chaotic competition environment and come away with his third consecutive pole vault OUA gold," said head coach Jonathan Younker. "He did what he does best: focus, compete and win."
In the para shot put F41 ambulatory event, Ouellette bested his showing from last year by 32 cm with a successful throw of 8.51m.
"Remi had a great year and has been super solid following his national team training camp this past summer," Younker said. "I'm excited to see what Remi can produce at the U SPORTS championships."
Ivanov and Ouellette now turn their attention to the 2026 U SPORTS Championships held at the University of Manitoba in Winnipeg, Man., from March 5-7.
