Pemberton, Snyder named Brock University Athletes of the Week

Robbie Pemberton (Richmond Hill, Ont.) of the men's golf team and Ava Snyder (St. Catharines, Ont.) of the women's cross country team have been named the Brock University Athletes of the Week for the period ending Sunday, Oct. 4.

Pemberton highlighted an impressive showing for the Badgers at both the Waterloo-Laurier Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 26 and Sunday, Sept. 27 and the Guelph Invitational on Monday, Sept. 28. In his first open of the week, the fifth-year Physical Education major shot a 71 at Rebel Creek Golf Club and a 74 at Grey Silo Golf Club, placing as the highest-scoring Brock golfer and tying for ninth overall. Following up on that performance, Pemberton shot a 69 to lead the Badgers and tie for the best individual score. Across the two events, Pemberton's consistency helped lead the Badgers to tying for third place in Waterloo and a first-place finish in Guelph.

Snyder led the Badgers to a fifth-place finish in the Don Mills Open in Waterloo, Ont., on Saturday, Oct. 3. Finishing with a time of 22:53.3, Snyder finished as the Badgers highest finisher and the ninth-fastest runner overall, slashing off over a minute from her 2025 time. The fourth-year Kinesiology major set the pace at the front of the Brock pack, helping the Badgers secure a strong team finish against a competitive field. With more invitationals on the horizon, Snyder's performance provides the Badgers with valuable momentum as they continue to prepare for the OUA championships.
