Heeley headlines a quartet of women’s soccer All-Stars

Four standouts from the Brock Badgers women's soccer team have been honoured as Ontario University Athletics (OUA) All-Stars

This year's slate of major award winners and all-stars for women's soccer were announced on Tuesday, Nov. 3.

Goalkeeper Maddy Heeley was named as the OUA West division's top shot stopper, earning a spot as a First Team All-Star, while Jenna Parris, Kayleigh DiGirolamo, and Elizabeth McConnell were all honoured as OUA West Second Team All-Stars.

Recording a career-best season, Heeley was at the heart of Brock's first playoff appearance since 2023. In her first season as a Badger following her transfer from the Nipissing Lakers, the goalkeeper only allowed six goals throughout her eleven starts, while making 56 saves. The product of Alliston, Ont., finished second in the OUA with a .903 save percentage, with her 0.55 goals-against average ranked fourth in the province. The Professional Kinesiology graduate student kept seven clean sheets throughout the year, organizing an imposing defensive unit for the Badgers while making countless clutch saves to keep Brock competitive in tight contests.

Maddy Heeley OUA All Star

Earning her second consecutive all-star selection in her final year with the Badgers, Parris registered career highs in goals scored, with seven, and assists, with three, to lead the team in both categories. Starting in all twelve of Brock's regular season games, the poacher was able to constantly deliver when her team needed her most, as she bagged three game-winning goals, including a clinical first-half hattrick against the Algoma Thunderbirds on Sept. 25. The Hamilton, Ont., native's work rate, leadership, and instincts in front of net earned her much deserved recognition after her exceptional senior campaign.

Jenna Parris OUA All-Star

Emerging as a key contributor at the heart of Brock's midfield in her first season with the team, DiGirolamo's consistency and composure on the ball were key to the Badgers successful season. The Mathematics and Science major racked up two goals throughout her twelve regular season starts, with both being game winners. DiGirolamo also delivered a key assist for the Badgers equalizing goal in their OUA quarter-final bout with the York Lions on Oct. 24. The midfielder's outstanding campaign has helped establish her as a promising talent for season ahead.

Kayleigh DiGirolamo All-Star

Locking down the Badgers backline throughout her twelve regular season starts, McConnell helped to anchor one of the OUA's sturdiest defenses, as the Badgers seven clean sheets ranked second across the OUA. The Pickering, Ont., native's relentless work ethic helped to stifle opposition attacks all season while she also chipped in with an assist to help Brock find an equalizer in a draw against the Windsor Lancers. The Kinesiology major brought immediate physicality and leadership following her transfer from the Ontario Tech Ridgebacks.

Elizabeth McConnell OUA All-Star
