Tabet, Vandenhoek, Woodhouse named Brock University Athletes of the Week

Charles-Etienne Tabet (Boucherville, Que.) and Keithan Woodhouse (Fronthill, Ont.) of the men's rowing team and Lily Vandenhoek (Caledon, Ont.) of the women's rugby team have been named the Brock University Athletes of the Week for the period ending Sunday, Nov. 1.

Tabet, a fourth-year Business Economics major, played a major role in the Badgers podium finish at the OUA Championships on Friday, Oct. 30., and Saturday, Oct. 31. The 2024 and 2023 OUA Male Rower of the Year secured a gold medal in men's doubles alongside Woodhouse, before following up by helping Brock secure a silver in the men's eight. The Quebec native continued to demonstrate his excellence in the water, as he added more silverware to his impressive personal catalogue.

Competing in his final OUA Championships this past weekend, Woodhouse similarly helped the Badgers secure two medals, claiming gold in the men's double with Tabet and silver in the men's eight. The sixth-year Kinesiology major's two medals helped cap off an outstanding collegiate career for the Badgers with another strong championship performance. His experience and leadership proved invaluable throughout the weekend, helping the Badgers claim a podium finish against the province's top rowing programs.

In their OUA third place game, Vandenhoek played a crucial role in the Badgers historic U SPORTS berth, as she scored all three of Brock's tries in their 17-10 victory over the Western Mustangs on Friday, Oct. 30. Days after being named an OUA Second Team All-Star for the second consecutive season, the second-year Teacher Education major continued to build on her outstanding sophomore campaign. The flanker's stellar performance helped lead the Badgers to a bronze medal in the OUA playoffs and their first national championship appearance in program history.
