Box Score ST. CATHARINES, Ont. – Brock University's women's basketball team fell 50-49 to the Carleton Ravens in overtime on Saturday night at the Bob Davis Gym, dropping their OUA record to 4-2. Elizabeth Roach had 18 points for the visitors, while her teammate Lindsay Shotbolt collected 16 rebounds.
Nicole Rosenkranz led Brock with 18 points and 11 boards.
In the first quarter, defense was the story as both teams combined for only 22 points. Carleton shot 3-15 from the field, posting 13 points, while the Badgers were limited to one field goal and six free throws, scoring a total of nine points.
The Ravens lead was maintained for the entire second quarter, as Carleton took a 22-16 lead into halftime. Roach continued her dominance with five more points, while Rosenkranz countered for Brock, scoring seven first half points and picking up three rebounds.
Samantha De Jong led the Brock with five boards in the opening two quarters.
At the half, the Badgers shot 10.7% compared to the Ravens who went 6-28 21.4%) from the field.
Brock trailed at one point by 14 points in the third quarter, before a pair of jump shots late from Rosenkranz cut into Carleton's lead. After three quarters, the Ravens held a 38-26 edge.
Kayla Santilli came out for the fourth quarter on a mission, and scored five consecutive points early to have Brock trail 40-33 with seven minutes on the clock. This started a 10-0 run for the Badgers, which put them down by two with 2:37 to go.

Si Khounviseth took a timeout down five points, and out of the break Jena Yumol was fouled, which put Carleton in the penalty. Yumol's two free throws made it once again a one-possession affair.
A minute later,
Nicole Rosenkranz was fouled going to the basket, and drained the original shot before converting on the ensuing free throw to tie the game. Neither team could solve their opponent's defense in the final 60 seconds of regulation, sending the contest to OT.
In the extra frame, Brock took a 49-48 lead thanks to a
Kayla Santilli layup with 90 seconds to go. In the dying moments of the game, Carleton's Alexandra Czich put home a buzzer-beater from underneath the basket, giving the Ravens a 50-49 victory.
The Badgers return to action next weekend, as they travel to York and Queen's.
