ST. CATHARINES, Ont. – The Brock University women's soccer team (0-1-3 OUA) played to a 1-1 draw at home on Sunday afternoon against the McMaster Marauders (1-1-2 OUA).
The Badgers got the scoring started in the 19th minute of the first half as
Nadia Bathish (Keswick, Ont.) collected her first career OUA goal. The goal was scored after Marauders keeper Cristina Abbatangelo misplayed the ball giving Bathish a clean path to an open net.
Early in the second half, McMaster's Allessia Marzilli was given two consecutive yellow cards coming in the 53rd and 54th minutes to put the Marauders down to 10 players on the pitch.
It wasn't until midway through the second half that McMaster scored the equalizer as Stephanie Davis intercepted a pass just inside the box and snuck the ball around the Brock keeper
Jenna Vasiliaskas (Burlington, Ont.).
Rookie keeper Vasiliaskas demonstrated some solid goaltending by making 10 saves in the match.
The Badgers will take on the Windsor Lancers (2-2-0 OUA) at home in their next action on Saturday September 14th at 1pm
