
ST. CATHARINES, Ont. - The Brock University men's lacrosse team (8-2 CUFLA) defeated the Laurier Golden Hawks by the score of 15-4 Sunday afternoon at Alumni Field.
The Badgers jumped out to a 3-0 lead after one quarter and led 7-1 at the half.
Leading the Badgers offense was
Brandon Slade (Orangeville, Ont.) who recorded two goals and five assists for a seven-point afternoon.
Matthew Bourassa (Cornwall, Ont.) added two goals and two assists while
Nicholas Rybka (Bolton, Ont.) (3G),
Grayson Houghton (Orangeville, Ont.) (3G),
Nicholas Beaudoin (Welland, Ont.) (2G, 1A) and
Connor Ham (Newmarket, Ont.) (2G, 1A) all chipped in with three points each.
Jake Nyhuus (Oakville, Ont.) added a single goal to round out the scoring.
Scoring for Laurier were Bryce Mayea, Connor Bullock, Danton Miller and Mac Forde.
In goal, rookie
Josh Wood (Welland, Ont.) recorded four saves for the win playing 40 minutes.
Alex Guiney (Toronto, Ont.) made two saves in the second half for the Badgers.Laurier's Riley Hutchcraft registered nine saves in the loss.
The Badgers close out the regular season next weekend as they travel to Guelph Friday night at 7pm versus the Gryphons and host the Laurentian Voyageurs on Saturday, October 24th at 2pm.
