Brock women's basketball falls to No. 9 McMaster 70-55

Box Score 2801HAMILTON, Ont. - The Brock University women's basketball team ended the regular season with a 70-55 loss to the No. 9 ranked McMaster Marauders Wednesday night at the Burridge Gymnasium.

The Badgers now await the outcome of Guelph's results this weekend versus Lakehead to see if they make the playoffs. Brock holds the tiebreaker versus the Gryphons, so one loss against Lakehead will secure the Badgers a postseason berth.

Brock would bring the score within five, 45-40, midway through the third, but once again McMaster closed out the quarter with a 10-3 run, on route to their conference leading 14th win of the regular season.

McMaster had four players in double figures led by Danielle Boiago who finished with a game-high 22 points and 14 rebounds for the double-double. Rachael Holmes chipped in with 13 points and seven boards, while Alexis Spadafora (10 points, 12 rebounds) and Hilary Hanaka (10 points, 5 rebounds) rounded out the Marauders leaders.

For the game, Brock shot 30.3% (20-for-66) from the field, 22.7% (5-for-22) from beyond the arc and 66.7% (10-for-15) from the charity stripe.
