Brock women's soccer drops 7-1 decision to York Lions

Box Score 2952TORONTO - The Brock University women's soccer team dropped their straight of the season, falling to the York Lions by the score of 7-1 on the road Saturday.

Just three minutes into the contest, York's Christina Morelli opened the scoring as she found the back of the net for her first goal of the season. Four minutes later, Nour Ghoneim added her second goal of the campaign to put the Lions up 2-0.

Brock midfielder Alana Wong cut the Lions lead in half at the 10 minute mark, as she beat York starter Taylor Grant for her first goal of 2015.

In the second half, it was all York as they added five more, with goals coming from Ghoneim (48') her second of the game, Kiyana Johnson (69' & 81'), Sarah Wong (50') and Colleen Beesley (78')

Brock starting goalkeeper Lauren MacCulloch allowed seven goals on 12 shots in the loss. Grant collected two saves for the win.

The Badgers are in action again on September 6th at 1 pm when they take on the McMaster Marauders on the road.
