
GUELPH, ON - The Brock University men's lacrosse team improved to 3-0 in CUFLA West as they defeated the Guelph Gryphons by the score of 16-6 Sunday afternoon on the road.
Brock jumped out to a 5-1 lead after 20 minutes and held a 9-2 lead at the half on route to their third straight victory.Â
Leading the Badgers attack was the trio of Nick Rybka (Bolton, ON) (4G, 2A),
Brandon Slade (Orangeville, ON) (1G, 5A) and
Brandon Staal (Courtice, ON) (1G, 5A) who all registered six points each.
Connor Ham (Newmarket, ON) chipped in with four goals and one assist while
Nico Beaudoin (Welland, ON) added the hat trick. Single goal scorers were Mitchell Mackenzie (Orangeville, ON), Adam Kirchmayer (Welland, ON) and
Kyle Pedwell (St. Catharines, ON).
In goal,
Alex Guiney (Toronto, ON) played outstanding in the victory.
The Badgers return to action this weekend when they are on the road against the Western Mustangs (Sept. 24) and Toronto Varsity Blues (Sept. 25).
