Lacrosse honours Truth and Reconciliation at pair of home games

On a night spent recognizing National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, the both Brock Badgers women's and men's lacrosse team emerged victorious against the Toronto Varsity Blues.

The evening of Wednesday, Sep. 30 saw the Badgers and Blues come together before the game to honour National Day for Truth and reconciliation with special ceremonies, marking the second straight season that these teams have worked together on this day of recognition.

The night featured drummers, an opening address, a land acknowledgement, half-time performances, and a joint raising of the Every Child Matters flag. All teams donned orange throughout the evening as a reminder that Every Child Matters.

Women's lacrosse emerged victorious with a 7-5 win in the exhibition matchup against Toronto. This marked their fourth consecutive win in both regular season and exhibition play, and is tied for the fewest goals allowed this season to date.

The Badgers earned a hard-fought 10-8 victory in a back-and-forth affair. An offensive outburst in the fourth quarter proved to be the difference as the Badgers scored four times in the final frame to pull ahead and win 10-8, with Guerin Jenning's marker at 8:45 in the fourth standing as the winner.
