TORONTO - The Brock University women's hockey team (6-3-8-1 OUA) defeated the Ryerson Rams 1-0 Saturday night at the Mattamy Athletic Centre.

After two back and forth periods that featured several scoring chances for both teams, the game was scoreless heading into the third.

Halfway through the third period, Cara Sayles scored her 6th goal of the season to give the Badgers the 1-0 lead, which would prove to be the only scoring they needed. Sayles' goal saw assists from Kailey Peirson and Megan Delay.

Brock goalie Jensen Murphy collected the win on a stellar 34-save shutout performance. It was her 7th win and her first shutout of the season. Her 34 saves helped Murphy grow her OUA-leading saves total to 479 in 16 games played. Rams' goalie Sydney Authier took the loss, stopping 24 of 25 shots.

The Badgers' next action comes January 29th as they take on the Waterloo Warriors (8-2-7-1 OUA). Game time is 2:30 pm.
