The Brock University men's lacrosse team improved to 7-0 in CUFLA West regular season action as they defeated the Guelph Gryphons by the score of 8-7 Sunday afternoon on the road.
Guelph jumped out an early 3-1 lead and held a 5-4 at the half. In the third, the Gryphons extended their lead to 7-4 as the Badgers trailed by three going into the final frame. In the fourth quarter, Brock rallied back answering with four straight goals, including the game winner from Kurtis Woodward with just 1:05 left in regulation.
Leading the way for the Badgers was
Brandon Slade who registered two goals and two assists. Woodward finished with two goals while Saul van der Zalm (2G),
Grayson Houghton (1G) and Jordan Gilles (1G) rounded out the scoring.
The Badgers return to CUFLA action October 13th when they battle the Western Mustangs on the road for first place. They are back at home October 14th and 15th when they host the Laurier Golden Hawks (Oct. 14 - 5pm) and McMaster Marauders (Oct. 15 - 2pm) at Alumni Field.
