Preview (Feb. 14-16): Badgers look to sweep Lancers in Game 2

Badgers forward Jordan Maletta (centre) scored two goals during a 6-3 win over Windsor to open Game 1 of the OUA Men's Hockey playoffs on the road Wednesday.

The Brock Badgers look to sweep the Windsor Lancers in the first round of the OUA men's hockey playoffs when they host Game 2 on Friday, Feb. 14 at Seymour-Hannah Arena in St. Catharines.

Puck drop is 7:15 p.m. and the first 50 fans will receive a free Badgers T-shirt. TICKETS

Windsor won the two regular season meetings earlier this season, but Game 1 of the best-of-three series belonged to the Badgers.

Brock led 4-0 at one point and skated away with a 6-3 victory in Windsor on Feb. 12.

"Game 1 of any series is always one of the most intense, we wanted to make sure we had a strong start," said Adam Berg, who scored two goals. "Once we got a couple goals we just started to roll. It was great to see so many guys step up in different ways to help get the win."

The Badgers enjoyed the confines of Seymour-Hannah Arena this season as they scored 3.36 goals per game at home oppose to 2.86 on the road. However, the Lancers are the opposite. They scored more goals away (3.43) than at home (2.86).

Brock head coach Marty Williamson isn't taking the Lancers lightly and expects a battle this series.

"Windsor is a big, solid and consistent team," he said. "They have a great penalty kill, and block tons of shots."

If necessary, the Lancers host Game 3 on Saturday, Feb. 15 at 7:30 p.m.

Brock begins their final two games at the No. 5 Ottawa Gee-Gees on Friday, Feb. 14 at 8 p.m. OUA.tv
