TORONTO - With both the men's and women's teams currently ranked No. 8 in the country, the Brock Badgers wrestling teams continued to add to their top results this fall with another strong showing at the TMU Open this past weekend.

Reaching the top step of the podium once again, second-year standout Samantha Adams finished first in the women's 67kg event. The nursing student made a clean sweep of the category picking up wins over Algoma, Guelph, McMaster, and teammate Jessica Tillmanns to finish first overall, with three of her four matches ending by fall. Tillmanns also had a strong showing with a second place result after defeating McMaster, Guelph, and Algoma twice.

Also achieving a podium result, second-year wrestlers Brooklyn Brown and Michaela Rankin placed third in the women's 53kg category and 63 kg category, respectively. With all four of the Badgers competitorst capturing medals, the Badgers women finished third overall in the women's team rankings..

"The whole team did incredibly well," mentioned Brock wrestling assistant coach David Collie. "It was especially impressive to see Samantha [Adams] continue her winning ways with a dominant performance in her weight class once again, similar to the same way she did two weeks ago at the McMaster tournament bringing home gold."

Meanwhile, on the men's side of the draw both Bobby Narwal in the 72kg event and Roger Li in the 125kg category achieved the top Badgers result with second place finishes. Narwal earned victories over TMU and Central Toronto Wrestling Club before dropping the final match of the day to Vanier. For Li, it was wins over McMaster and Kingston Wrestling Club that propelled him into the finals versus Team Impact where he came up just short in a 9-2 decision.

Rounding out the Badgers men's results Gabe Blanchette placed third in 68kg, Max Budgey fifth in 76kg, Jordan Wiley fourth in 82kg, Mark Summers fifth in 90 kg, and Callum Knox fourth in 100kg.

Brock concludes their fall schedule at the York Open on Sunday, Nov. 20.
