BROCKPORT - Seeing some athletes competing at the SUNY-Brockport Invitational in New York and others at the Don Wright Team Challenge in London, the Brock Badgers men's and women's track and field team delivered a combined 10 podium results between the two competitions this past weekend.
Leading the way for the women, the trio of
Grace Kugler,
Michelle Corallo, and
Ruby Neumann earned a clean sweep of the podium in the women's 60m hurdle at the Brockport event. Kugler earned the top step with a time of 8.82, followed by Corallo in 9.39 and Neumann at 9.50. Meanwhile in London,
Madelyn Huston finished first in the women's 1000m in a time of 2:58.24, while field athlete
Emily Good continued her stellar shot put season with a second place throw of 12.71m.
For the men, rookie sensation
Michael Ivanov set a new Brock program record posting a U SPORTS national championships auto-qualifying jump of 2.05m in the men's high jump, finishing first overall in Brockport. He would also add a second place result in the men's pole vault with a leap of 4.55m. On the track in Brockport,
Colton Spencer raced to a second place time of 8.33 in the men's 60m hurdles, while Kehsawn Igbinosun finished third in the 200m posting a time of 23.01. Igbinosun would join
Nick Mancini,
Ethan Xavier, and
Tyrell Smikle for the 4x400m relay, where they Brock men earned the final podium result placing third in a time of 3:32.9.
Brock track and field are right back in action competing at the York Winter Open from February 3-4 in Toronto.
