The Brock women's basketball team is hosting its 17
th annual Shoot for the Cure game to help raise money to support the Canadian Cancer Society (CCS).
The Badgers' will wear pink during warmups when they host the Ontario Tech Ridgebacks at Bob Davis Gymnasium on Saturday, Jan. 20 at 6 p.m.
Fans in attendance will have an opportunity to scan a QR code and donate towards the team's fundraising goals.
Dedicated to increasing awareness and fundraising for breast cancer research, this endeavor has become a cornerstone in the Canadian university sports community, uniting athletes, coaches, and fans in the battle against breast cancer.
Donations can also be made online via the Brock Badgers' Canadian Cancer Society
fundraising website.
In partnership with other U SPORTS women's basketball programs across the country, the Badgers are raising funds to help reach the total campaign fundraising goal of $100,000 through virtual and in-person events from Jan. 17-28.
In addition, Brock and other U SPORTS universities will join in promoting the initiative through their digital channels as part of a national marketing campaign.
Headlining the online programming is a
national auction where donors can bid to win an autographed Scottie Barnes Toronto Raptors jersey among a plethora of other prizes.
Last season's event raised more than $115,000 for the CCS. Overall, Shoot for the Cure has raised more than $1.85 million in donations since 2007.
