Both the Brock Badgers men's and women's swimming teams took part in the Toronto Grand Prix in Toronto on Saturday, Jan. 27.
On the women's side, Jami Fusion earned 14th in both the 200-metre breaststroke (two minutes, 56 seconds and 13 milliseconds) and 400-metre medley (five minutes, 37 seconds and 90 milliseconds).
Tatum O'Connor placed 14th in the 100m backstroke in 1:08.45 while Sydney Peace came 16th with a time of 5:38.29 in the 400m medley.
First-year Computing and Business major Michael McCormick took home the top Brock men's result, finishing 13th in the 100m backstroke (1:02.85). The Ottawa native also earned a 16th place finish in the 200m backstroke (2:17.76).
Owen Googe touched the wall in 4:58.63 in the 400m medley (14th place) while Hughie Edwards (100m backstroke - 1:03.41) and Anthony Gunn (100m butterfly – 58.19) placed 15th in their respective races.
Rounding out some of the top results for the Badgers men were Jack O'Malley (400m freestyle - 16th - 4:30.41), Lleyton Shuster (400m medley - 16th - 5:01.12) and Alexander walker (200m breaststroke - 17th - 2:34.18).
Up next, the Badgers will have one more competition before the OUA Championships as they host the Badger Tri-Meet on Saturday, Feb. 3 at the Eleanor Misener Aquatic Centre.
