Brock held its seasonal invitational this past weekend.Â
The Brock Badgers fencing team took part in the Brock Open on Saturday, Nov. 16 and Sunday, Nov. 17 at Bob Davis Gymnasium.Â
Second-year fencer Bryn Thomas earned a 16th-place finish in Senior Women's Epee at the invitational, making it to the round of 16 in the event's bracket after going 3-3 in Pool No. 2. The Grimsby native defeated No. 1 ranked Sydney Lutz of the Trent Excalibur in the Round of 32 en route to winning two direct elimination matches on the day.
Wylan Clitheroe, a second-year foilist placed 22nd in the Junior Women's foil event.
The best Badger performance in each event was Parker Triano (Senior Men's Epee and Senior Men's Foil), Robert Cruickshank (Junior Men's Foil), Danyel Moore (Junior Women's Sabre), Ben Wignall (Senior Men's Sabre), Addison Mahoney (Senior Women's Foil) and Isamaris Escano (Senior Women's Sabre).Â
Next, the Brock Badgers fencing team will head to Ottawa to participate in the Carleton Invitational in 2025 on Saturday, Jan. 11 and Sunday, Jan. 12. Â
