It was a sensational start to the season for the Brock Badgers men's golf team.

The Badgers swept the individual podium and won the overall team title at the Guelph Fall Kickoff on Friday, Sept. 13 at the Guelph Lakes & Country Club.

Liam McKeiver shot a tournament-best score of 68 and was followed by Jaxon Kearns. In his Brock debut, Kearns finished one stroke behind McKeiver with a 69.

It was an impressive showing for McKeiver as he finished two-strokes better than last year's Ontario University Athletics (OUA) champion Zach Burt of the Waterloo Warriors.

Coming in third was Morgan Daly who tied with Kavith Ranchagoda from the McMaster Marauders, Sai Kaja from the Toronto Varsity Blues and Zach Burt from the Waterloo Warriors with a score of 70.

The Badgers earned the team-best score of 283 from the Brock men 1 team, which consisted of McKeiver, Kearns, Robbie Pemberton (72), Sean Fraser (74) and Sebastian Albert (78). Additionally, Brock finished 15 strokes ahead of last year's OUA team champion Waterloo Warriors, giving optimism for the team's prospects this season.

Along with Daly, the Brock men 2 team saw contributions from Alex Duarte and Charlie Paton who both shot a 76. Matt Lundy (81) and Josh Moro (86) rounded out the performances for Brock.

Next, the Badgers are hoping to continue this momentum as they travel to Kingston for the Burt Kea Memorial/Queen's Invitational on Sunday, Sept. 15.
