The Brock Badgers men's lacrosse team got back to their winning ways.
In a road matchup with the Nipissing Lakers, the Badgers came out victorious by a score of 14-9 on Saturday, Sept. 14 in North Bay.
Jaden Patterson, a fourth-year attack, led the Badgers in points with two goals and five assists.
Two Badgers in
Brodie Thoms and
Colton Armitage each registered a hat trick to help anchor the strong Brock scoring attack.
A promising 5-2 first-quarter start for the Badgers was quickly erased at half as the Lakers went on a 5-2 run of their own in the second.
Goals from Thoms and
Braedon Mair helped jumpstart the Badgers' offence in the third quarter. A 7-2 second half helped propel Brock to the win.
Matthew LaBute, Carter Mcbride,
Jack Parker and
Noah Simonelli each registered one goal for the Badgers.
In net, the Badgers saw two goalies in action as
Adam Brown and
Connor O'Toole both appeared in the contest.
Both
Brayden Brown and
Mitchell Zulian earned two assists on the day while Thoms,
Nathan Fehr and
James Gowland had one each.
Nipissing was strong on the power play, scoring two goals with the man advantage.
Up next, the Badgers travel to Sudbury for a morning contest at 10 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 15 against the Laurentian Voyageurs.
Last season, Brock blanked Laurentian 21-0 in their only matchup of the season on Sept. 30, 2023.
