Written by Derek Hansler, Sports Information Student Assistant
On Friday, the Brock Badgers women's basketball team earned a 77-64 win over the No. 10 ranked Windsor Lancers in front of a home crowd at Bob Davis Gym. Jamie Addy led the offence with 20 points on 66 per cent shooting from three-point range to go along with four assists, four rebounds and two steals. It was an all-around game for Madalyn Weinert, scoring 20 points with 15 rebounds, three assists, four blocks and two steals. The Badgers controlled the entire game as the only lead Windsor held came early in the first quarter, when they were up by two points. Brock responded by finishing the frame, shooting 10-for-17 from the field and taking a 27-22 lead that they would not relinquish for the remainder of the contest. This advantage extended up to 17 by the third quarter before the Lancers did their best to crawl back. The key to winning this game was winning the three-point battle as Windsor struggled to find space against Brock's tight defence, shooting 2-for-20 from behind the arc compared to the Badgers' 10-for-29.
