Ashlynn Lantz (Hanover, Ont.) of the softball team, Morgan Daly (St. Catharines) of the men's golf team, and Jenna Parris (Hamilton) of the women's soccer team have been named the Brock University Athletes of the Week for the period ending Sunday, Sept. 13. 
 
Making an immediate impact on the mound, Lantz played an instrumental role in the Badgers undefeated start to their season, pitching in two of Brock's four victories over the weekend. Across 10 innings pitched, Lantz only allowed six hits and two earned runs, while striking out 13 of the 39 batters that she faced, limiting the opposition to a .171 batting average. The Accounting major consistently kept opposing batters off balance during her outings, headlining and impressive weekend of pitching in which the Badgers only managed to allow seven opposition runs.
 
Daly, a fourth-year Business major, delivered a standout performance to help the Brock Badgers men's golf team capture the team title at the Fall Kickoff Invitational. Daly carded a 69 to finished tied for third overall among the individual men's field, helping lead the Badgers to a team score of 286 and the top spot in the final team standings. With a strong individual performance already under his belt, the hometown veteran's leadership will be an important asset for the Badgers moving forward, as they aim to build on their winning start to the season in their upcoming competitions.
 
Continuing her hot start to the season, Parris, a fifth-year Teacher Education major, is earning her second Athlete of the Week honours of the season. Scoring three goals across two weekend matches, Parris helped lead the Badgers to victories over the Western Mustangs and McMaster Marauders. Kicking off the weekend in London, Ont. Parris scored on either side of the halftime break in a 3-1 victory, including a screamer from outside of the box on Friday, Sept. 11. The striker followed suit by netting the game-winning goal to defeat the Marauders on Sunday, Sept. 13, marking her fourth goal of the season. Parris' keen eye for the goal has made her a constant threat in the attacking third, as she continues to be a key piece to Brock's surging start to the season.
