Jenna Parris (Hamilton, Ont.) of the women's soccer team and
Nicholas Buccianti (Concord, Ont.) of the men's soccer team have been named the Brock University Athletes of the Week for the period ending Sunday, Aug. 30.
Veteran Parris, a fifth-year forward, made an immediate impact to help the women's soccer team collect a 2-0 road victory over the Waterloo Warriors in their season opener. On Sunday, Aug. 30, Parris opened the scoring around the half-hour mark at Warrior Field in Waterloo, Ont., breaking the deadlock and giving Brock an early lead. Just before halftime, the Hamilton product turned provider, setting up
Kate Halley for the Badgers' second goal of the afternoon. Throughout the match, Parris was a key offensive presence as Brock applied sustained pressure and earned a hard-fought road victory to open their 2026-27 campaign.
Starting on the back line, Buccianti helped the men's soccer team put together a strong defensive performance against the Waterloo Warriors on Sunday, Aug. 30. The fourth-year defender played the full 90 minutes as Brock limited Waterloo to just three shots on goal. Despite the Badgers ultimately falling 1-0, Buccianti and the Brock back line remained organized throughout the match and kept the Badgers within striking distance until the Warriors' lone goal in the 79th minute.
