Vanessa Keefe, a third-year wrestler, won her fourth gold medal of the season in the 68-kilogram weight class. After a 10-9 technical fall win over Mantej Cheeme (Akhara of Champions), Keefe defeated Katie Mulkay of the Edmonton Wrestling Club by 5-3 decision in the semifinals. In the final, Keefe earned another decision victory by besting Ellise Daynes 5-1 of the Dinos Wrestling Club. Impressively, Keefe took down a former U SPORTS gold medallist and three-time national medallist in Mulkay and the current No. 1 ranked female in the Wrestling Canada Lutte university individual rankings in Daynes, in what was a very successful weekend.
