Camren Courchene-Carter, a first-year swimmer, delivered a sensational performance at this first Ontario University Athletics (OUA) Championships. The product of the Brock Niagara Aquatics program became the first OUA champion for the Brock men's swimming program since 2003 after coming in first in the 100-metre backstroke in one minute and 68 milliseconds. On Day 3 of the competition on Sunday, Feb. 9, he earned his second medal of the weekend as he touched the wall in 28.02 to claim silver in the 50m breaststroke event. His final top performance was a fifth-place showing in the 200m breaststroke (2:15.77). All three of those results earned him a spot at the U SPORTS Championships as he helped the Badgers improve on their finish last year by placing sixth this time around at the provincial competition.Â
