Brianna Fraser, a fourth-year wrestler, captured her third national medal in the 83-kilogram division over the weekend in a commanding performance. In her four matches at the round robin on Friday, Feb. 28, the Kinesiology major bested all challengers by fall, with her longest match lasting one minute and 36 seconds. In the gold medal match which took place on Saturday, March 1, Fraser went head-to-head with the undefeated Alexia Sherland of the Concordia Stingers. In what was the final match of the evening, Fraser thrilled the home crowd at Canada Games Park with a 14-2 technical fall win. For coming in first, Fraser also received First Team All-Canadian recognition at the awards banquet later that night.
