Returning to Canada Games Park for the first time in 2026, Eric Barnard and the men's hockey team split two matchups over the weekend. In a 3-2 overtime win over the Windsor Lancers on Friday, Jan. 9, the Sport Management major tallied two goals and one assist. His first point came during the opening goal, assisting Jonah Boria 13 minutes through the first period to put the Badgers up 1-0. After the Lancers scored two unanswered goals to go up 2-1, the first-year forward responded with two straight goals, including the overtime winner, to give the Badgers a 3-2 victory. During a 5-4 overtime loss to the Guelph Gryphons on Saturday, Jan. 10, Barnard found the back of the net for the third time in two games. After the Gryphons committed a penalty early in the second period, Barnard made no mistake, netting a power-play goal to tie the score 2-2. This goal helped extend his point streak to four games, earning six points (three goals and three assists) across this span.
