Brock men's lacrosse rolls past Varsity Blues 14-6

ST. CATHARINES, Ont. - The Brock University men's lacrosse team (7-1 CUFLA West) extended their win streak to five games as they rolled past the Toronto Varsity Blues by the score of 14-6 Saturday afternoon at home. 

Brock led 5-2 at the half before adding nine second half goals, including five straight in the fourth quarter, on route to the eight goal victory. In eight games this season, the Badgers have outscored their opponents 95-54.

Leading the Badgers offense was Brandon Slade (Orangeville, Ont.) who led all scorers with a game-high seven points adding two goals and five assists. Kyle Davis (Caledon, Ont.) contributed with two goals and three assists for five points. Greg Davidson (Toronto, Ont.) (4G) and Gage Board (Brampton, Ont.) (2G, 2A) both added four points each. Mark DeBrone (St. Catharines, Ont.) (2G) and Brandon Staal (Courtice, Ont.) (3A) rounded out the Brock offense.

Scoring for Toronto were Andrew Masson with four goals and Michael Buwalda who added two goals and one assist.

In goal Brock rookie Ryan Jones (Aurora, Ont.) registered the victory collecting nine saves. Toronto starter Lowell Hunt allowed 14 goals on 21 shots in the loss.

The Badgers next action is Sunday, October 6th at 2pm when they host the McMaster Marauders.
