LONDON, Ont. - The Brock University men's lacrosse team (2-1 CUFLA) dropped a 13-5 decision to divisional rival Western Mustangs Saturday night on the road.
Brock led 2-1 after 20 minutes before Western answered with five straight goals in the second quarter to take a 6-3 at the half.
The Mustangs would go up 8-3 early in the third quarter and would add five more goals in the fourth quarter on route to an eight-goal victory.
The Mustangs had 10 different goal scorers led by Sam Neeb (3G, 1A) and Ryan McCrory (2G, 1A). Adding single goals were Shayne Snider, Doug Utting, Kyle Childerhose, Dylan Ham, Patrick McCrory, Ryan Myles, Hayden Smith and Jordan
Tripp.
Leading Brock were
Kyle Davis and
Brandon Slade who both added one goal and one assist.
Greg Davidson,
Matt Fountain and
Travis Arch all added singles.
In goal, senior
Ian Duffy allowed 13 goals on 20 shots in the loss while Western goaltender Zach Grace recorded 13 saves for the victory.
The Badgers next action is Sunday, September 15th at 2pm when they host the Guelph Gryphons in their CUFLA regular season home opener.
