
ST. CATHARINES, Ont. - The Brock University men's lacrosse team (9-0 CUFLA) rolled past the Laurentian Voyageurs by the score of 14-5 at home Sunday afternoon.
With the score tied 2-2 early in the second quarter, the Badgers answered with six straight goals to take a commanding 8-2 lead with 5:32 remaining in the third. Laurentian ended the quarter with two goals cutting the Brock lead in half 8-4. In the final quarter, Brock outscored the Voyageurs 6-1, on route to their ninth victory of the season.
Leading the Badgers offense was
Brandon Slade, who reached the 100-point mark of his Badgers career, registering three goals and four assists for the seven-point performance.
Kyle Davis and
Greg Davidson both added a goal and two assists.
Travis Arch and
Mark Vradenburg chipped in with two goals a piece, while
Mitch Robertson, Wes Kewley,
Nick Rybka, Matt Bourassa and
Drew Barfoot all added single goals.
For Laurentian, Matt Kussman recorded two goals and two assists. Neil McInroy, Matt Volpe, Paul Jelley all chipped in with singles.Â
Brock starting goaltender
Ryan Jones registered 12 saves in the win. Laurentian's Ian Watkins added 11 saves in the loss.
The Badgers next action is Saturday, October 18th at 2pm when they host the Toronto Varsity Blues at Kiwanis Field.Â
