North Bay,ON - The Brock University women's hockey team (5-2-10-1 OUA) defeated the Nipissing Lakers in shootout 2-1 Saturday afternoon on the road.
After a scoreless first period, Nipissing opened the scoring 4:56 into the second period as Molly Sipprell and Alexane Papineau setup Natalie Graham for her first goal of the season.

Brittany Gillmor (St. George Brant, ON) beat Lakers goaltender Sabrina Picard for her third goal of the campaign.
In the third period and overtime nothing was solved, sending it to a shootout. In the shootout Brock starting goaltender
Stephanie Loukes (Oakvile, ON) stopped all three Nipissing shooters; Stacey Henshaw, Bronwyn Bolduc and Kaley Tienhaaran.
After Brock's
Christina Ieradi (Maple, ON) missed, it was Gillmor putting a nice move on Picard for the shootout winner.
In goal,
Stephanie Loukes (Oakville, ON) recorded 29 saves for the victory. Picard collected 27 saves in the loss.
The Badgers return to action Sunday, January 31st at 1:50pm when they take on the Laurentian Voyageurs in Sudbury.
