ST. CATHARINES, ON - The Brock University men's rugby team ended the 2016 season with a 38-7 loss to the Western Mustangs at Alumni Field Saturday afternoon.

The Badgers controlled the play early on, but it was the Mustangs capitalizing on two Brock turnovers in the opening half to go up 12-0 midway through.

Brock answered with a try from Dylan Meredith (Mississauga, ON) and convert from Nathan Boeyenga (Brantford, ON) at the end of the half to make it a five-point game after 40 minutes 12-7.

In the second half, Brock had a couple key scoring chances, but once again Western took advantage of turnovers outscoring Brock 26-0 in the second half.

Scoring for Western was Cole Sopin and Brady Rowland with two trys each and Conor Smith and Isaac Butlert adding single trys. Kicker Will Sander connected on four of six converts in the win.
