
ST. CATHARINES, ON- The Brock University women's soccer team dropped a 2-1 decision to the No. 5 ranked York Lions Thursday night at Alumni Field.
The Badgers opened the scoring just four minutes into the opening half as
Alex Crawford (Unionville, ON) put a corner kick into the back side of the goal which was headed home by rookie
Alysha Bonany (Guelph, ON). Â
Just 10 minutes later, Nour Ghoneim setup Farkhunda Muhtaj who piut home her first goal of the season to tie it 1-1.
York would take a 2-1 lead in the 22nd minute as Ghoneim put one past Brock rookie goalkeeper
Marilena Spagnolo (St. Catharines, ON) with Mika Richards adding the assist. It was Ghoneim's 13th goal of the campaign.
Spagnolo finished with 10 saves in the loss while York goalkeeper Taylor Grant collected three saves for her OUA West leading seventh victory of the season.Â
The Badgers return to action on October 15th when they host the Guelph Gryphons at 1:00pm at Alumni Field.
