ST. CATHARINES, ON - The Brock University women's hockey team defeated the Laurier Golden Hawks by the score of 4-1 Saturday afternoon at the Seymour-Hanah Centre.
The Badgers opened the scoring 12 minutes into the first period asÂ

Carley Blomberg (Timmins, ON) for her second goal of the season.
Laurier evened the game 1-1 with just over three minutes left in the first period, as Emily Woodhouse added a powerplay goal. Jamie Watson and Aynsley Harrison collected the assists.
After a scoreless second period, it was all Brock in the third as they answered with three straight goals.Â
Eight minutes into the third, Brock took a 2-1 lead as Murphy found
Christina Ieradi (Maple, ON) who beat Laurier starter Amanda Smith for her seventh goal of the season.Â
Lisa Buratynski (Ajax, ON) would collect her third goal of the campaign with five minutes left and Blomberg added her second goal of the night with an empty netter.Â
In goal, Brock's
Jensen Murphy recorded 21 saves for the victory. Smith collected 32 saves in the loss.
The Badgers host the Waterloo Warriors Sunday 2:15pm at the Seymour-Hannah Centre.
