
ST. CATHARINES, ON - The Brock University men's lacrosse team lost a 7-6 thriller to the Trent Excalibur in the CUFLA semi-finals Saturday afternoon in front of a capacity crowd at Alumni Field.

Brock opened the scoring 6:10 into the first quarter with an unassisted goal from
Brandon Slade (Orangeville, ON). Â Brock then followed up with three other goals to finish the first quarter with a 4-0 lead.
The Excalibur began to show signs of life by netting a goal in the 2nd quarter and two in the 3rd still leaving Badgers with a 6-3 lead heading into the 4th quarter.
Trent had a commanding 4th quarter netting four straight goals taking the 7-6 lead with 1:59 left in the game. Brock was unable to answer as they end their 2016 season.

Alex Guiney (Toronto, ON) faced 17 shots on net earning Player of the Game for the Badgers.
The Badgers offensive leaders were Slade (1 goal, 2 assist),
Connor Ham (2 goals),
Davis Neal (1 goal, 1 assist), Brandon Stall (2 assists),
Grayson Houghton (1 goal) and
Nicholas Rybka (1 goal).

The Excalibur goaltender, Kyle Holton earned Player of the Game honours facing 17 shots on goal.

Trent will take on the Western Mustangs in the 2016 CUFLA Baggataway Cup final Sunday 1pm at Alumni Field.
