
ST. CATHARINES, ON - The Brock University men's lacrosse team (1-0 CUFLA) opened the 2016 regular season with a 16-13 victory over the Western Mustangs at Alumni Field Saturday afternoon.
The Badgers led 5-3 after one quarter and were tied 8-8 at the half.
In the third quarter, Brock took an 11-9 lead before the Mustangs tied it up 11-11 with back-to-back goals from Ryan Myles with 2:15 left. In the final 30 seconds of the third, the Badgers

Connor Aquanno (Hammonds Plains, NS) who beat Western goaltender Ben Landers for the 12-11 lead after 60 minutes.
In the fourth, Brock answered four straight times to take a 16-11 lead, on route to their first CUFLA West conference victory.
The Badgers offense was led by
Brandon Staal (Courtice, ON) and Slade who finished with five points each. Staal added three goals and two assists while Slade contributed with two goals and three assists.
Nico Beaudoin (Welland, ON) collected one goal and three helpers while Aquanno,
Tyrus Rehanek (Brampton, ON),
Nicholas Rybka (Bolton, ON) all added two goal each. Adding singles were
Matthew Bourassa (Cornwall, ON) (1G, 1A),
Davis Neal (Orangeville, ON) (1G, 1A),
Connor Ham (Newmarket, ON) (1G) and
Kyle Pedwell (1G).
