ST. CATHARINES, ON – The Brock men's rugby team were defeated by a dominant showing from the Guelph Gryphons by a score of 67-5 on the second day of homecoming action.
Guelph jumped to an early 13-0 start within the opening 15 minutes and took a subsequent 41-0 lead by the end of the half.
However, the Badgers came out in the second half and produced a strong defensive effort, which helped in limiting Guelph to only 26 points for the rest of the game.
The Badgers faced a tough Gryphons defense that had only allowed 12 points against them in the first two games of the season, which was the lowest total currently amongst all teams. However, after some strong offense the badgers were able to break through with a try from
Nabeel Imtiaz (Pickering, ON).
The 3-0 Gryphons remain undefeated, whilst the Badgers fall to 1-2 on the season going into their next game away at the Laurier Golden Hawks on Sunday Septermber 25th.
