
SUDBURY, ON - The Brock University men's lacrosse team (5-1 CUFLA) defeated the Laurentian Voyageurs by the score of 14-9 Sunday afternoon on the road.
The Badgers led 4-2 after 20 minutes and scored five of the next six goals to take a commanding 9-3 lead early in the third quarter.
Connor Ham (Newmarket, ON) led the Badgers offense scoring a game high four goals.
Nico Beaudoin (Welland, ON) and
Matthew Bourassa (Cornwall, ON) both contributed with two goals and one assist each while
Brandon Staal (Courtice, ON) handed out three assists.
Nicholas Rybka (Bolton, ON),
Grayson Houghton (Orangeville, ON) and
Brandon Slade (Orangeville, ON) all finished with two goals each to round out the Brock scoring.
Laurentian was led by Sam Postma who finished with three goals and four assists to lead all players.
In goal, Brock rookie
Luke Mcleod (Grimsby, ON) collected seven saves in his first career victory. The Voyageurs Ian Walters added 10 saves in the loss.
The Badgers, who currently sit in first place in the CUFLA West Division, return to action on October 1st at 7pm when they host the Laurier Golden Hawks at Alumni Field.
