The Brook University men's lacrosse team defeated the Guelph Gryphons by the score of 16-4 Saturday afternoon as part of the 2017 Brock University homecoming.
Brock led 2-1 after one quarter and held a 6-3 lead at the half. In the third quarter, the Badgers answered with seven straight goals to take a commanding 13-3 lead on route to their third victory of the season.
The Badgers were led by
Brandon Slade who finished with one goal and five assists.
Connor Brown finished with four goals while Curtis Woodward added the natural hat trick.
Connor Ham (2G),
Jake Nyhuus (2G), Nick Rybka (1G, 1A) and
Tyrus Rehanek (1G, 1A) all added two points each. Rounding out the scoring were
Grayson Houghton abd Saul van der Zalm who both chipped in with one goal each.
In goal,
Josh Wood came up with some outstanding saves as he turned aside 17 of the 21 shots he faced for the victory.
