The men's and women's soccer teams lost by scores of 1-0 and 2-1 to the visiting McMaster Marauders on Oct. 6.

The women's team exchanged scoring chances with McMaster before the Marauders broke a scoreless deadlock halfway through the first. They took a 2-0 lead just before half.

The Badgers responded by dominating the second half and Sam Bayer scored in the 66th minute to capitalize an onslaught of pressure.

"It was a frustrating game for us," said head coach Kevin Trethowan. "I thought the first half was pretty even but Mac pounced on two defensive errors and made us pay."

Despite a rocky road this season, the Badgers have not given up hope of reaching the postseason.

"We have four games left and three wins out of those four game could be enough to secure a play off spot," said Trethowan. "If we play like we did today against Mac in those games then I think we will secure a spot in the off-season."

Up next, the Badgers (2-6-4) host the Algoma Thunderbirds (0-11-1) for back-to-back games on Oct. 13-14 at 1 p.m. and noon, respectively.

Meanwhile, the men's team outshot McMaster 13-8 but lost during injury time when McMaster's Miles Green found the back of the net. Brock will host Algoma on Saturday (3:15 p.m.) and Sunday (2:15 p.m.).
