The Brock Badgers men's lacrosse team snapped the Western Mustangs' 13-game win streak on Sunday.
The Badgers outlasted the Mustangs 10-9 in overtime on the road in London.
The last time Western lost was on Oct. 13, 2017, which was to the Badgers.
Brock has now won five consecutive games.
"It was definitely a big win. It was a great team win. Everyone contributed; the offense, the defence, the goalie and our face off guys," said head coach
Tim Luey. "It was a great step for the boys who had to battle some adversity throughout the game and they kept fighting. Hopefully that win is a stepping stone for more success this season. I'm happy for the boys to get that win."
Davis Neal and Jordan Gillis each scored in overtime.
Gillis finished with two goals and an assist. Kurtis Woodland scored three goals and added an assist.
The Badgers led 4-3 at halftime before the Mustangs scored three goals in the third to take the lead.
Cree Blakely tallied two goals, while Connor Ham and Latrell Harris each added a goal.
Tyrus Rehanek posted two assists.
Up next, the Badgers (7-1) travel to Hamilton to take on the McMaster Marauders (2-6) on Wednesday, Oct. 24.
