The Western Mustangs scored four goals in the third quarter to spoil the Brock men's lacrosse team Homecoming party by a score of 8-7 at Alumni Field on Saturday.

Cole Davis scored midway through the fourth quarter for the game winner.

Davis added a goal in the third and Rowan Kelly tallied two goals.

For Brock, the Badgers led 4-1 after the first period.

"Getting off to a strong start was important to us because we had two bad starts to begin the season. We wanted to end that trend of slow starts," said head coach Tim Luey. "That was definitely one of the positives our coaching staff took from the game."

Kurtis Woodland, Connor Ham, Tyrus Rehanek and Cree Blakely each whipped in a goal.

"We need to improve our ability to take care of the ball. We've been too careless with our possessions thus far in the season and we need to cut down on our turnovers," added Luey. "If we can manage to do that then I think we'll be just fine, but we definitely have a long way to go in that regard."

Up next, the Badgers (2-1) complete the regular season on the road with games in Toronto on Friday, Sept. 28 and Laurentian on Saturday, Sept. 29.
