Brock struggles to stop high-powered Queen's attack

KINGSTON - Traveling to Kingston on Saturday, the Brock Badgers men's rugby team fell 64-19 to the Queen's Gaels.

Challenging the current No. 1 seed in the OUA standings, the Badgers looked to mount an offensive push early, scoring 12 first half points against a Gaels defence which had only conceded seven total points in their three previous matches combined. Despite the first half scoring for Brock, the home side still carried a 31-12 lead into the halftime break.

Beginning second half action, the Queen's offence continued to roll adding another 33 points, while Brock was only able to add one more try and convert.

Brock will have an opportunity to find their form once again with a showdown next Saturday, Oct. 15 at Alumni Field versus the Toronto Varsity Blues who sit in the bottom half of the OUA standings. Kick off for the home contest is slated for 4 p.m. with the game also available to watch on OUA.TV.
