PETERBOROUGH – In a rematch of the 2021 Baggataway Cup final, the Brock Badgers men's lacrosse team once again came out on top, defeating the Guelph Gryphons 9-5 in the semifinal round on Saturday afternoon in Peterborough.
With the victory the Badgers advance to the Baggataway Cup final for the second consecutive season where they will look to capture their 20
th CUFLA championship banner in program history.
On the field, the Badgers were quick to grab an early lead jumping ahead 2-1 after the first quarter. From that point they continued to build the gap, eventually establishing a five goal lead in the closing minutes which proved too much for the Gryphons to overcome.
Leading the team in the semifinal win,
Andrew Rybka delivered a dominant offensive performance for the Badgers with a five point afternoon from four goals and an assist.
Sam Leclair notched two goals and an assist for Brock, while
Trent Hunter,
James Gowland, and
Aidan Buis each added a single marker for the Badgers in the win.

Connor O'Toole were vital to limiting the attack of the Gryphons.
Brock will face the top seed and host Trent Excalibur on Sunday, Nov. 6 at Justin Chiu Stadium in Peterborough. Action is set to begin at 2 p.m. with the match being streamed live on
Lacrosse Sports Network.
