The Brock women's curling team finished fourth in the province at the Ontario University Athletics (OUA) Women's Curling Championships in Waterloo on Sunday, Feb. 27.
The Badgers lost to the Carleton Ravens 6-3 in the bronze-medal game at Waterloo's Westmount Golf & Country Club.
Brock vice Grace Cave was named an OUA First Team All-Star.
Against the Ravens, the Badgers opened the scoring in the first end before Carleton built a 3-1 lead by the end of the third.
Brock tallied a point in the fourth and fifth to knot the match up 3-3. Then, Carleton pulled away in the sixth.
To open the bonspiel, the Badgers posted a record of 2-2 in pool play with a pair of wins over Toronto and Queen's by scores of 9-4 and 5-1. However, they also lost close contests with McMaster, 5-4, and Ryerson, 6-4.
In the quarter-finals on Saturday, Feb. 25, the Badgers upended Trent 4-3 and lost to Waterloo in the semis on Sunday morning.
Brock's rink consists of Cave, coach John Sawchuk, Chloe Morby, Cassandra Barnard, and Sarah Bailey.
