WINDSOR - Delivering on several more program best results, the Brock Badgers track and field team competed well at the Can-Am Classic in Windsor this past weekend.
Bettering her own personal mark and the Brock program record,
Emily Good delivered another stellar performance in the women's shot put event, finishing third overall with a toss of 12.82m, Good was the lone Badger to reach the podium at a very competitive event in Windsor.
Also setting a new Brock track and field program record, sprinter
Colton Spencer placed sixth in the men's 60m hurdles with a time of 8.30.
Finally, another Brock record setter improving on the mark he had already set, first-year pole vaulter
Michael Ivanov achieved a jump of 4.57m to place fifth overall in Windsor.
Several more athletes achieved personal best at the event, along with OUA Championship qualifying performances. First-year sprinter
Grace Kugler finished sixth in the women's 60m dash and eighth in the 60m hurdles posting times of 7.86 and 9.09. Meanwhile, the men's relay team of
Tyrell Smikle,
Nick Mancini,
Keshawn Igbinosun, and
Olobo Okpanachi placed sixth in the 4x200m event in a time of 1:34.16. Both Smikle and Mancini also delivered OUA qualifying and personal best times in the men's 300m.
The competitive schedule will continue for Brock this upcoming weekend as some athletes will be set to travel to London for the Don Wright Team Challenge and others to New York for the SUNY-Brockport Invitational.
