The Brock Badgers increased their medal count from a year ago.
At the 2026 Ontario University Athletics (OUA) Championships, the Brock women's track and field team earned two podium finishes at the Toronto Track and Field Centre in Toronto.
The Badgers finished in seventh place with 18 points, three ahead of the McMaster Marauders at the two-day event that took place from Friday, Feb. 20 to Saturday, Feb. 21.
Chloe Zaraska, a fifth-year athlete in her first year with the Badgers, jumped to a personal-best one metre and 77 centimetres in the high jump to capture a gold.
The Nursing student finished six cm ahead of the two second-place finishers from the Guelph Gryphons and now ranks second in the country with her latest jump. She previously won a silver medal in the high jump (1.69m) in 2024 as a member of the Gryphons.
"Chloe's been rock solid all year, and I had no doubt that she'd come out on top in OUA women's high jump," said head coach Jonathan Younker. "The only question was how high she would go en route to the gold medal. She has set herself up perfectly for the U SPORTS Championships."
For the third straight season, Sarah Saldutto has made an appearance on the OUA podium.
After winning a silver last year in the 60m hurdles event, Saldutto added a bronze medal in the long jump with a successful attempt at 5.68m, finishing one cm ahead of Mercy Awosoga of the Guelph Gryphons.
"Sarah's been battling injuries all year and was dealing with hamstring soreness in the hurdle and long competitions," Younker said. "She's a competitor and always finds a way to produce at the OUA championships."
Zaraska will represent the Brock Badgers at the 2026 U SPORTS Championships, set for March 5-7 at the University of Manitoba in Winnipeg, Man.
